A beautiful picturesque town of Varaždinske toplice is situated in the valley of the river Bednja, among the green hills of Hrvatsko Zagorje. Its history dates in the earlier Stone Age. During the Antic era it was well known as the thermal spa called AQUAE IASAE.
Varaždinske Toplice is a town situated in the North eastern part of Hrvatsko Zagorje, 46°12'13" north latitude and 16°25'29" east longitude. The centre of town is situated on the limestone terraces down the south slope of the Toplièka gora and it continues down to the Bednja river valley. The natural wealth - rich thermal water spring - has given the position, the name and the continuity of inhabitants and healing to the town through all the cultural epochs . According to the recent research, it is the returning water - ascending spring. Those who like walking and mountaineering, can enjoy marked paths to nearby Toplice and Kalnik hills, Grebengrad, Ivanèica, etc.
